My go-to coffee shop in town for brunch, drinks, and charm.
My love affair with Mojo’s began a scant 2 1/2 years ago, when I was invited by a friend to her Sunday ladies’ brunch. Not only did the coffee shop have scrumptious chai and drinks like the Beekeeper and Buttery Ripple, they also provided a variety of breakfast morsels, soups, and sandwiches. Add to that the organic, fair trade coffee and it being one of the few women-owned restaurants in the Roanoke Valley, and I was hooked.
Run by owner/chef and fellow Pisces, Nikki Litwiller, this cute coffee shop has been a Brambleton Avenue staple since November of 2004. You’ll find the atmosphere casual and inviting, perfect for long, drawn-out conversations with friends or for quiet lingering over a book or laptop. Many of Mojo’s customers become regulars; Nikki and her staff easily make you feel like you’re part of an extended, caffeinated family. Another nifty hallmark of the Mojo Cafe is the rotating art shows, which feature local artists. The current show highlights the haunting reveries of Roanoke artist, Tricia Gillispie Scott. (Originals and prints are available for purchase.)
And as you can see below, much of the menu is vegetarian-friendly. I highly recommend trying this little gem out!
